Apprentice Carpenter at Jamestown Kitchen and Bath - Jamestown, New York, United States
The year was 1988. The place Falconer, NY. The name Jamestown Marble. Jamestown Marble was where we started and how we have grown! In the beginning, November of 1988, Don and Lora Proctor and their son Andy of Frewsburg purchased Jamestown Marble Company. Jamestown Marble Co. was the largest supplier of marble products in the tr-state area, producing cultured marble tops, tub decks and soaking tube for 8 years. In 1995, expansion was on the horizon with dreams of opening a bath shop to promote the cultured marble business and to expand to bath cabinetry. The purchase of our current building, which in the past was the Coca Cola and 7-Up bottling plant, was going to be our new home! With the purchase of our building, our name changed to Jamestown Kitchen & Bath; this was the start of the kitchen business!Jon Wilcox, formerly of Thomas Webco, joined us in April of 1997. Marina Smith, formerly of Carter PEH in Warren, PA, joined the team in 1999. Tracy Kirchhoff, formerly of Countertop Solutions, joined us in September 2012 and this completed our family. Denny Williams was part of our family from 2000-2012 when he retired. Mark Raetz joined us in 2016 and is our laminate fabricator. Without Jeremy, we couldn't get our deliveries out to customers!Andy is now the president of JKB and his wife, Sharon, is our bookkeeper- this is truly a family business! You will still find Don coming in everyday to make sure all is running smoothly. We believe he just can't stay away! Our building has seen many changes on the inside, but still looks like the old 7-Up bottling plant on the outside. From meager beginnings of having a few vanities in the showroom to our full working kitchen with Wolf and Subzero appliances, our showroom has expanded numerous times to accommodate the needs of our customers. We pride ourselves on taking care of our customers from start to finish no matter how big or small the project is.
