Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University, Bangladesh (BDU) is Bangladesh's first specialized Government Digital University.This university has been established to make Digital Bangladesh sustainable by implementing the Vision 2021 of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution, to educate, research and improve digital knowledge in various fields of Information and Communication Technology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels to turn young generation into skilled human resources and entrepreneurs.In the 2018-19 academic year, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University started its academic activities from March 2019. The university already has two faculties, the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Education and Research and also the Institute for Online and Distance Learning.The undergraduate activities of the university are ongoing in the field of Bachelor of Science in 'Internet Of Thing (IOT)' under the Faculty of Engineering and Bachelor of Science in 'ICT in Education (ICTE)' under the Faculty of Education and Research. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University started student admission program in Certificate Course on Digital Learning Design, Certificate Course on Cyber Security in the 2018-2019 academic year under the Institute for Online and Distance Learning to unveil new aspects of online education in Bangladesh. These programs and courses are brand new in Bangladesh and among the public-private universities in Bangladesh. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University, Bangladesh is the only university that have the ability to teach students online from home and abroad.With these groundbreaking steps, this university will take Bangladesh one step further in the field of information and communication technology. This will create up-to-date technology entrepreneurs, expand the country's technology market and create new jobs in the near future.
