In 1946, Chick-fil-A's founder, Truett Cathy, opened his first restaurant, a small restaurant called the Dwarf Grill, in Hapeville, Georgia, just south of the Atlanta Airport. Years later, in 1967, after inventing and perfecting his Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, Truett became a pioneer in the quick service restaurant industry by opening his first - and the first of its kind - Chick-fil-A Restaurant in a shopping mall.
