Metro Assist is a not-for-profit organisation that provides welfare and social support services to vulnerable communities and peoples. Our organisation works to address community issues by providing casework, information, referrals, social programs, and material support to assist people to become resilient and self-reliant. We engage in planning processes and work to build capacity of local service networks to meet the needs of the diverse community we seek to serve. We monitor emerging issues and advocate for appropriate services and resources. Metro Assist has four offices in the Canterbury, Marrickville, Ashfield and Bankstown LGAs which provide a range of critical community services including migrant settlement, family support and early intervention, emergency relief, tenancy services, and community development. We also have a food bank and a dress for work project, which assists disadvantaged individuals and families with food packages as well as to dress them in formal attire for interviews and/or for employment if they cannot afford formal clothing.
