LMCC/Chicago is an innovative labor-management partnership between the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 134 and the Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA) of City of Chicago. For more than 100 years, our organizations have worked together to encourage communication and cooperation between labor and management, establish the highest standards of safety and expertise in our industry, and to promote the union electrical industry in the Chicago region. We are dedicated to helping workers and employers explore creative joint approaches to become more effective, assisting them in solving mutual problems and enhancing the involvement of employees in making decisions that affect their working lives. We believe in expanding and improving working relationships between workers and managers and encouraging free collective bargaining by establishing avenues for them to communicate. LMCC/Chicago also studies ways of eliminating potential problems that reduce competitiveness as well as inhibit economic development of the electrical contracting industry in Cook County. Over the past 100 years, ECA Chicago and IBEW Local 134 have shaped the growth of Chicago, often building many firsts in the city, including helping execute Daniel Burnham's groundbreaking lakefront plan, installing Chicago's first telephone system and wiring the city's first subway system – not to mention helping build the city's first skyscrapers, homes, churches, hospitals, high-rise apartments, airports and theaters. We've helped build many of Chicago's unique landmarks, such as Sears Tower, Wrigley Field, O'Hare Field and the Art Institute of Chicago. ECA Chicago and IBEW Local 134 are proud to have been an integral part of Chicago's history during the 20th century and are dedicated to its ongoing growth as one of the world's great cities throughout the next.
