At Jacob's Well, Inc. was founded in 1985 for the benefit of the homeless and mentally ill. March of '86 marked the opening of our first transitional residence, which housed four formerly homeless, mentally ill men. A house for women was opened soon thereafter. The transitional program grew over the next eight years. Our seventh house opened in 1994 and an eighth has been purchased. It was finalized on 9/29/20.As of November 2020 the transitional program now provides homes to 13 men and women. Our permanent housing program provides subsidized apartments for 16 households and a total of 24 residents. With the support of At Jacobs Well, residents receive necessary food, shelter and care. Capable residents are currently interviewing for jobs and working. Operating funds come from individuals, churches, government, foundations and program service fees that are paid by residents.
