The American Association of Service Coordinators is a national not-for-profit member association representing the resident service coordinator profession. Our 3,200 members serve seniors, people with disabilities and low income families living within affordable rental housing and the surrounding community. Service coordinators assist senior and disabled residents in identifying, locating and acquiring the services necessary for them to maintain self-sufficiency and help families achieve economic independence. Service coordinators also impact health care and entitlement programs by providing the bridge connecting multiple lines of available community services, as a part of the position's holistic approach to resident care and empowerment. AASC serves its members by representing the concerns of service coordinators through interaction with Congress and federal agencies and educating public and private agencies on the benefits and cost effectiveness of service coordination and service-enriched housing. AASC also strives to enhance the professionalism of its constituents through its training and networking conferences and opportunities for peer networking in addition to providing information on ‘best practice' programs.
