Away from the hustle and bustle of the city's crowd, Scholar's Institute of Technology is situated in Garchuk, Guwahati. Surrounded by lush greenery and undulating hills, SITM provides a peaceful and calm environment for the students to learn and grow. The institute was founded on May 8th, 2008 under the Indian Trust Act, 1882. Striving relentlessly for excellent academic achievements and innovations, SITM has highly equipped classrooms, tutorial rooms, audiovisual teaching aids, and seminar halls with the scientific lighting system. The institute has a well-furnished library, which consists of 500 nos. of titles, 6000 volumes of textbooks and 1700 volumes of reference books. One of the great features of this library is a computerized system with ‘Lib Sys', which facilitates online references and issuing of books without the hurdle of waiting in a queue. A student can visit the library on all working days, on academic weekends, and during their vacation. One can access the Question Banks and Video Lectures (NPTEL) through the Digital Library of the institute, which is well equipped with IBM Server, Core 2 Duo workstations, and high-speed internet connectivity. The institute has five different departments of Engineering with experienced, competent and highly motivated faculty. The departments are Electrical and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, and Civil Engineering. There is a huge demand for competent engineers in the above-mentioned fields, and SITM provides the best faculties and technology to make their students rise above the rest. The institute has a cell, named, Institution Industry Interaction Cell, where they evolve educational programs, which are consistent with the broad requirements of the industry, and make the students capable to cope up with the accelerating pace of technological development.
