The International Journal of Nuclear Security is a scholarly, peer-reviewed, open-access journal. Its mission is to share and promote research and best practices in all areas of nuclear security around the world by providing a multi-disciplinary forum for scholarship and research publications. The journal is currently published semi-annually by the Institute for Nuclear Security at the Howard Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy, University of Tennessee, Knoxville. It accepts submissions from scholars, students, practitioners, and experts from academia, government, industry, and the private sector, as well as from the intelligence, military, and law enforcement communities. The journal encourages diversity in theoretical foundations, research methods, and approaches, asking contributors to analyze and include implications for policy and practice. Submissions are accepted in the following areas of nuclear security: – Science and Technology – Operational and Intelligence Capabilities – Policy, Law, and Diplomacy – Education and Training – Human Reliability – Real-World Missions – Networking, Partnering, Engagement, Promotion In addition to publishing articles in these areas, the International Journal of Nuclear Security plans an annual competition for student articles about nuclear security; winners will be published in the journal and (dependent on funding) will receive prize/scholarship money to support them in their studies.
