MISSION STATEMENTTo provide financial assistance with the purchase of prescription medications, medical supplies and medically-related travel for low-income, uninsured clients in Jackson or George Counties in Mississippi.HISTORYHealth & Handicapped Services of Jackson & George Counties originated in Jackson County in 1960. This agency was formed in order to assist those in our community that were victims of polio, cancer, tuberculosis and muscular dystrophy. The program has operated under several different names and its scope of services has both changed and expanded over the years. Health & Handicapped Services is a non-profit 501c3 agency, and is fully funded by the United Way of Jackson & George Counties. It is governed by a Board of Directors who are volunteers from the community, and overseen by an Executive Director.
