The Franklin Township Community School Corporation is located in the southeast portion of Indianapolis. The township encompasses forty square miles that was once a rural community but currently experiencing growth through new housing. The township schools have over 8600 students and made up of six K-5 elementary schools, two Grades 6-8 middle schools and a comprehensive four-year high school.Franklin Central High School has garnered national recognition for their academic success. The Washington Post has recognized Franklin Central as a Top Challenge School in both 2012 and 2013. This honor recognizes the challenging curriculum that prepares students for the rigors of college placing Franklin Central as one of the top 9% of all public and private schools in the United States.
