Freelance at Paradise Found | Responsible Travelling - Rotterdam, South Holland, Netherlands
Paradise Found combines insights from scientific research with travel experiences. This way we can become more aware of the impact we have as tourists and think about how we can develop destinations in a more sustainable way. With this, Paradise Found aims to be a source of inspiration for both travellers as well as DMO's and local governments. As travellers we'd like to think that we do good by going someplace else. But no matter our intentions or reasons, the more travellers come, the more the destination changes. When we start promoting and developing a new hidden-gem, more people will eventually visit it. This can bring benefits, but often the destination also loses its charm. We need to do things differently. Therefore I write about travelling in another way. Paradise Found is all about responsible travelling. This does not only involve being conscious about environmental sustainability. It also has to do with the impact tourism has on the local culture and economy. The topics I am specialized in are the impact of- and regulating Airbnb, sustainable tourism policy in cities, sustainable development of tourist destinations based on Doughnut Economics, developing a sustainable travel policy for organisations and sustainable travel advice for individuals. I offer consultancy, qualitative research projects, (guest)blogs or in-depth articles, translation of research results into digestible information, presentations or guest lectures and workshops on the above-mentioned topics.Check out www.paradisefound.nl for more information and inspiration.
