JOA Ventures Seed Capital invests in high-tech startups that bring innovative and scalable products fast and to a large market. The fund managers actively participate in the companies and provide support (marketing, sales, IP, product scaling) and entrepreneurial experience. The fund focuses on: Energy, Software, and Biotech.Fund management focuses on two target groups:1) Young starters, (pre-) seed, working on their prototype, a patent filed or about to be filed and a validated (customer) business proposition. The business matches the knowledge and experience of at least one of the partners in fund management. 2) Expert scientists, University or R&D background. New in business but with experience and deep knowledge in their field of science / technology. One of our partners will play in active role in supporting the business, making the transition from science to practical product innovation. Selection criteriaThe fund invests in technostarters that can demonstrate:• Patentable innovation• A product that is highly scalable and for a large market• Strong team where fund management partners can play an additional roleDifferentiationThis fund is different from other high tech investment funds. It is a fund by tech entrepreneurs, for tech entrepreneurs. The fund management team is also the largest participant in the fund. We take "skin in the game", both with equity and by actively participating in the startup. JOA Ventures does not invest just to make it to the next funding round, but to build successful companies.
