Founded in 1887, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) is a public, historically Black university that is part of the State University System of Florida. U.S. News & World Report lists FAMU as the No.1 public HBCU in the nation and Forbes Magazine ranks the University as one of "America's Top Colleges." The Princeton Review named FAMU among its " Best Colleges: Region-by-Region" list.
