India is a joint venture between Indian vehicle manufacturer Force Motors (51%), part of the Dr. Abhay Firodia group of companies, and Rolls Royce Power Systems AG (49%), a fully owned subsidiary of the British technology group Rolls-Royce plc. This joint venture combines the strengths of the two partners viz., Rolls-Royce Power Systems’ cutting-edge technology in reciprocating off-highway engines and Force Motors’ long-standing experience in top-quality manufacturing with access to the cost-competitive Indian supplier network and knowledge of the Indian market. Force MTU Power Systems is the exclusive facility worldwide manufacturing the proven MTU Series 1600, 10 and 12 cylinder diesel engines with power output from 545 to 1200 HP. The Series 1600 engines are suitable for power generation and underfloor rail applications. Force MTU Power Systems also manufactures the Series 1600 generating sets (450 to 1010 kVA) for power generation under the Rolls-Royce Power Systems core brand MTU. Offering reliable backup power solutions to ensure continuous and emergency standby power, Force MTU Power Systems has served industries such as Airports, Ait Traffic Control Rooms, Data Centres, Hospitals & Healthcare, Commercial & Public buildings, and Industrial & Manufacturing facilities, to name a few. The Series 1600 engines and generating sets produced at Force MTU Power Systems are sold and serviced worldwide under the Onsite Energy brand through the MTU sales and service network of Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG.
