Colorado Puppy Rescue is a licensed, no-kill, 501(c)3 non-profit rescue that specializes in the rescue and care of young puppies.Colorado Puppy Rescue's mission is to provide support to rural shelters and rescues that do not have the funding, facilities, population or staff to care for large numbers of puppies and therefore must resort to euthanasia. We rescue young puppies needing homes from these organizations, provide them with medical attention and place them into an adoptive home. These puppies may have been turned into the shelters by the owners or simply been left on the side of the road and picked up by shelter workers. Some come with stories, but most do not. The shelters contact us when a rescue is needed, and our driver will pick up the puppies. We provide a placement system where puppies that are not accepted by other organizations for whatever reason, can be placed into homes, rather than be destroyed. The puppies that are rescued by Colorado Puppy Rescue are guaranteed adoption. CPR averages 100 puppies per month. Since 2005 our CPR community has helped to rescue and find homes for over 14,000 puppies. We do not receive city, state, or federal financing. All rescue operations and vaccinations are paid for by public donations and adoption fees.CPR is an entirely foster based organization. We do not own a facility to house our rescue animals. All of the puppies that come to CPR are fostered with families from day one so fosters, and volunteers are very important to us. Currently, Colorado Puppy Rescue has three directors and a foster coordinator. We have over 100 foster families and over 100 active volunteers from Denver metropolitan communities. This makes CPR a great source for community service that ends in a sense of accomplishment and in lasting friendships.
