The Transit Real Estate Fund was launched in 2017, and is managed by an experienced team of Canadian professionals, with experience in both the capital and real estate markets, focusing on residential income properties and multi family commercial real estate acquisitions in the Southern Ontario region.TREF is looking to raise a maximum of $25M, which will be used to acquire approximately $50M in real estate assets. Structured as a Limited Partnership, the fund will be acquiring properties along the primary transit corridors in the Greater Horseshoe Area, with a focus on multi-residential income properties. The Limited Partnership Structure, as well as the sole focus on acquisition of properties located in AAA locations makes this a safe way and a great option for those looking to diversify their investments, and is open to both cash and all Registered Funds inclusive of RRSP's, TFSA's, LIRA's, RRIF's etc.TREF's intention is to take advantage of the anticipated price appreciation in its target investment area because of mass transit extension and expansion, creating a larger commuter belt across Southern Ontario. Getting ahead of commuter migratory patterns has added significant value time after time. The Fund will purchase a number of diversified income-producing multiplexes across Southern Ontario and manage and improve them over a 5-year period.Although our primary focus is to purchase existing multi-family properties we are not ruling out the purchase of mid and pre-construction projects within the same geographical area. The Manager expects that the portfolio when fully invested shall comprise of 50-70% existing multi-family properties, 15-25% mid construction multi-family properties and 15-25% pre-construction multi-family properties.
