When we first opened our doors in 2008, the city of Wollongong was undergoing a rapid transformation from a heavy industry port to a hub of technology and innovation. In a bid to re-think how a city infrastructure could collaborate with the creative industries, we spent the next decade collaborating with councils, state governments, academic institutions, tourism boards, developers and cultural planners over a range of projects to build artistic capability at scale. The effect was undeniable: a flurry of arts and music festivals, a hive of retail and tourism activity and a booming, self-sufficient cultural scene largely driven and supported by those in our orbit. Wollongong today is the living embodiment of our ideals; a hyper-viable model for banding governments, brands and independent artists together for something greater than what any one project might allow. Today, we're a creative studio of graphic designers, artists, producers, developers and visionaries who will help you stand out from the crowd. We continue to mediate between the world's most cutting edge artists and the brands, platforms and governments who wish to work with them. We design events, films, festivals, branding and websites from the DIY to the ultra-sharp. We're experts at red-tape, and know how to grease the right wheels to make the impossible happen (legally, of course). We believe in the long-term value of creativity. Sometime's that means playing the role of cultural communicator for governments, other times it's to help a brand say something with a certain amount of voltage. We've seen it unify entire neighbourhoods and provide opportunities to emerging voices who might not have access to such avenues. Most of the time, it's just a lot of fun. But with an ever-expanding array of perspectives, such creative projects can thrive in the unlikeliest of places. We want to test just how far that can go.
