Atelier de conservation-restauration pluridisiplinaire, at atelier - Paris, Île-de-France, France
From the Latin "assis" the word atelier evoques today, despite its polysemy and its morphological and semantic adventures, the workplace of a craftsman, an artist, a worker, a place where one practices manual activities for his craft or for pleasure. This is how we conceive atelier: a place of reflection, exchange, research and experimentation in architecture and the disciplines that are complementary to it, open to multidisciplinary collaborations and partnerships.Based in Paris and Lisbon, we carry out projects in France and Portugal, resulting from public and private commissions, of small and large scale, programs that range from housing to equipment.Aware of our responsibility in building a legacy and of our impact on people's lives, we strive to create an architecture that is both rational and poetic, concrete and intuitive, logical and sensitive, timeless and evolutionary, silent, sustainable and rooted that responds to specific (a specific place, a unique landscape, a particular programme, a future user, a project economy) and generic stakes (a social, economic, ecological context, regulations and techniques) of each project.Commitment and pleasure, rigour, quality, simplicity and clarity are watchwords in our practice.
