Environmental Projects & Communcations at Alouette River Management Society - Maple Ridge, BC, CA
The Alouette River Management Society (ARMS) is an environmental non-profit society in British Columbia working towards ensuring healthier ecosystems and sustainable lifestyles for all living things in Maple Ridge. ARMS maintains a variety of ongoing projects and programs, including:- Alouette Watershed conversation and salmon protection- Educational programs offered in local schools- Environmental stewardship (invasive removals, water-quality testing, vegetation surveys, and more)- Activism (fish ladder petition)- Community-building (offering a wide range of volunteer opportunities; hosting and attending local events)- Partnership projects with Kaztie First Nations youth, BC Corrections, Pacific Salmon Foundation, DFO, Watershed Watch Salmon Society, and more- Children's day camps offered in both Spring and Summer- Pollinators Program (offering free beekeeping workshops to the public)- The Maple Ridge Adopt-A-Block Program (managed by ARMS, funded by the District of Maple Ridge)
