EmpowerMT creates a more just and inclusive society by developing youth and adult leaders who work to end mistreatment, correct systemic inequalities and strengthen communities across Montana. EmpowerMT envisions a Montana where each person is respected, where differences are understood, where youth, institutions, and communities share a commitment to correct injustices, and where all people have the opportunity to thrive without the risk of violence or oppression.EmpowerMT has three major pillars of work; youth & schools, businesses & organizations, and community, with a focus on developing leadership, communication, and violence prevention skills. We aim to provide our leaders with the skills to authentically build relationships across identity lines, develop pride within their community, communicate across culture and identity and to challenge systemic oppression. For youth & schools, EmpowerMT offers leadership pathways that address bullying, oppression, and violence through age-appropriate curriculum and designated support groups for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ identifying youth. For businesses & organizations we offer a range of structured and tailored trainings for employees and organizational leadership that address Building Inclusive Work and Service Environments and Getting Comfortable with Conflict, among others. We also provide organizations with mediation services and we also work with organizations to develop Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access policies. For community members we host annual events like Missoula's Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration that recognized and honors racial justice leaders in our community and Diversity Day that celebrates youth leadership and showcases youth community action projects. We also offer controversial issues process for community members in conflict.
