December 10, 1984 Columbus Area Habitat for Humanity was born. As an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry, Columbus Area Habitat works to eliminate poverty housing in the Fountain City. In the early years, volunteers completed the first Habitat home in Columbus, for the Savage family. Columbus Area Habitat still uses dedicated volunteers to further the mission. Working in partnerships with people in need and challenging people of compassion to provide the initial capital, CAHFH has built more than 300 affordable homes. We are very proud of the growth that we have shown for more than 30 years.
