Rotary is the largest private, non-profit, non-religious, non-governmental organization in the history of mankind. It is the world's oldest service club dting back to 1905 when Chicago lawyer Paul Harris met with three of his friends on February 23 to kindle fellowship among members of the business community. As the club grew, they rotated their meeting among the members' places of business. Hence the name Rotary.
