Founded in 1992, Rato Bangala School is a leader in progressive education and an advocate for child-centered education. It runs classes from pre-kindergarten to A Level.As an advocate for child-centered education, Rato Bangala works to take best practices crafted at the school to the larger community through its outreach programme, Rato Bangala Partnership in Outreach Programme, and its sister organisations: Rato Bangala Kitab and Rato Bangala Foundation. Rato Bangala Foundation is the recipient of the UNESCO Hamdan Prize in 2012 for "Outstanding Practice and Performance in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Teachers." Rato Bangala School has grown to be a pioneer in improving the quality of instruction in private and government schools across Nepal. Since its inception Rato Bangala has affiliated with the Bank Street College of Education in New York, USA.
