Director of DEC Network Development at National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children - Westminster, CO, US
Children are often the first impacted by parental substance use/overdose/death, yet they are often the last to be identified and helped. They are the silent victims. National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children's mission is to help these children by early identification, intervention, and support. National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children (National DEC) is a national non-profit is a training and resource center for professionals who have the opportunity to impact drug endangered children. We work with states, tribes, and communities to address the issues around substance abuse and drug endangered children. We provide training, technical assistance, resources, publications, promising practices, community development, and more! National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children defines drug endangered children as children who are at risk of suffering physical or emotional harm as a result of illegal drug use, possession, manufacturing, cultivation, or distribution. They may also be children whose caretaker's substance misuse interferes with the caretaker's ability to parent and provide a safe and nurturing environment.
