New Mexico's Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (NM EPSCoR) is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to build the state's capacity to conduct scientific research. The New Mexico EPSCoR SMART Grid Center—a novel, interdisciplinary research center—will pursue next-generation electric power production and delivery through an evolution of a SMART electric grid that responds to evolving technologies, user choices and practices, regulations, and threats. NM EPSCoR Programs ensure diversity participation in the SMART Grid Center and train the next generation of SMART-and micro-grid professionals. NM EPSCoR also engages stakeholders and the general public in SMART Grid Center topics.
