These treatments also pave the way for new therapeutic approaches for frequent disorders.In 2012 Genethon received the Prix Galien France for pharmaceutical research into "Medicines destined for rare diseases – cell therapy and gene therapy."In 2013 Genethon's production facility, Genethon BioProd obtained certification as a pharmaceutical manufacturer from French National agency for medicines and health products safety (ANSM). Genethon BioProd is the largest laboratory for GMP production of gene therapy products in the world.In april 2015 Genethon was recipient of the Global Innovation Competition 2030 in the category "Risk Lift" at the Elysee Palace, for its project on the development of an industrial process for production of gene therapy vectors.
