Photographer Stephen Stinson uses his passion for food and his love of people to create emotional and memorable photographs for corporate, advertising and editorial clients. With his personal work shooting landscapes, southern scenes and details and his unassuming southern character he is always striving to show to the unseen eye something missed or neglected. Many photos hang on the walls of people that love a good image, something from a time not too long ago. An old car in kudzu or railroad track glistening in the sun, a detail of something old and rusty.A cookbook project titled 'Soby's New South Cuisine' (published in 2007 by Table 301, Greenville, SC) won several national and regional awards showcasing the exquisite cuisine of Soby's restaurant in Greenville, South Carolina. Shooting freshly prepared food in all natural light produced photos that have received critical acclaim and make the reader's mouth water. The book project was done as a ten year anniversary piece and promotional tool for the restaurant and within six months went into the second printing.Recently Stephen been working on a self produced project with friend and gallery rep Ed Emory of Carolina Gallery titled 'Artist's Among Us'. The project involves photographing local artist's and bringing attention to the wealth of talent in the local arts community. "Ed and I both want to highlight the local artists' and put a name with the face by bringing attention to the artists' living in the upstate." Living in upstate South Carolina with all four seasons calls for a pleasant and comfortable life and plenty of room to roam. Asheville, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Charleston all within a few hours drive.
