Giving WaYa partners with non-profits, school districts, churches, and other organizations to offer fundraisers by recycling unwanted clothing and other items. We set up red collection bins at drop-off locations for each fundraiser. Each month, our team collects all of the donations, which in turn are weighed, and then we cut a check for the organization at a set amount per pound.Donated items that cannot be resold locally are shipped to countries that don't have a textile industry, where clothing is hard to come by. What's left over after that is broken down and recycled into material that can be repurposed to make new clothes. None of it ends up in landfills!Waya is the Cherokee word for wolf, one of the most respected creatures in Native American culture, a symbol of guardianship, loyalty, and spirit. It is our desire to help guard the Earth and give back to its people in the spirit of the great Cherokee Nation.
