Architecture Firm/Engineering Firm

CTG, a Collins Aerospace Company innovates in the design, validation and manufacture of advanced composite products for the aerospace & defence industry. CTG develops products for systems where composite provides the differential performance benefit. The wide portfolio of products includes lightweight composite torque transmission shafts, lightweight high pressure composite storage vessels and hydraulic accumulators, thermally tuned missile body tubes, highly resistive composite fuel pipes, stealth components, flywheels and kinetic energy recovery systems and cryogenic suspension systems. CTG is at the forefront of filament winding technology, specialising in precise fibre placement techniques, and innovating new technology in joining metals to composites. Composites are exceptionally strong, durable, lightweight and in many applications, require little maintenance. As an alternative to metals and alloys, they can deliver significant operating cost savings, reduce energy use and emissions, open up new possibilities in design and reduce part count without compromising strength or durability by being easier to form into complex shapes.
