The 176th Medical Brigade's (MED BDE) motto is "To Serve Proudly" and has a long history to include World War II campaign participation in France and Central Europe, which is indicated by the red fleur-de-lis in its patch—where it earned the Meritorious Unit Commendation (MUC). Today, the Brigade is headquartered in Seagoville, Texas, and is one of ten U.S. Army Reserve Brigades worldwide. Medical Brigades provide Medical Battle Command of theater medical units providing Army Health System (AHS) support for Brigade Combat Teams (BCTs), Division/Corps (DIV/CORPS), Joint and Multinational Forces. The 176th Medical Brigade provides Mission Command of the 94th Combat Support Hospital (CSH), the 228th Combat Support Hospital (CSH), and the 341st Multifunctional Medical Battalion (MMB) and their subordinate medical units, which include over 2,700 Soldiers across six states in the central Continental United States. The scope of the 176th Medical Brigade's command includes ten out of ten battlefield medical functions: Medical Mission Command; Medical Treatment; Hospitalization; Medical Evacuation; Dental Services; Preventive Medicine Services; Combat and Operational Stress Control; Veterinary Services; Medical Logistics; and Medical Laboratory Services, and its units are part of Army Response Force (ARF), the Defense CBRN Response Force (DCRF), and have mobilized to support COVID-19 Response.
