A mentoring service for young men\The main aims were to provide psychological, emotional and mental support to adolescent boys who lack positive masculine input in their lives. To help them focus and channel their energies into becoming well rounded individuals. The boys have an opportunity once a week to express their concerns and anxieties in a safe environment within the group. They are given an opportunity to be emotional and express anger at their circumstance get support for any issues they are facing currently. Some of them get to discuss the impact of not having a father at home. They are taught skills such as accountability for their actions, being effective communicators, taking ownership of their lives. Through the group the boys learn "trust" to respect each other and thus ensure there is confidentiality for all. They learn that it's okay to acknowledge when they hurt, and they learn how to deal with the hurt.
