bhalo is Bangladesh's leading farm inputs marketplace and a social enterprise. bhalo uses a network of digitally-equipped sales agents to connect farmers to leading farm input suppliers and financial service providers, and offer curated high-quality farm inputs (seeds, fertilisers, chemicals, etc.), customised advisory and financial services (buy-now-pay-later, insurance, etc.). This increases production and income of small farmers, and sales and market share of partner businesses. Since April 2019, bhalo has served ~4,000 farmers in Kurigram and Jhenaidah in partnership with a number of leading farm input suppliers and financial service providers. Farmers have reported up to 50% increase* in production, and farm input suppliers have witnessed 5X growth in sales.bhalo is one of the two winners of SDG Impact Accelerator 2021, and supported by YGAP Bangladesh, CSISA-MEA (a project of USAID), and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
