The Heart of Texas Concert Band is a community band as diverse as San Antonio, not only in our membership, but also in the music we play and the different venues in which we perform, giving our gift of music to the community.Founded in March of 2009, the Heart of Texas Concert Band performs concerts for enthusiastic and appreciative audiences of all ages. The Heart of Texas Concert Band, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, is a volunteer band consisting of about 70 members. Funding for the band comes primarily through donations from members and patrons. Additional funding is provided through contributions at concert performances.The purposes of the band are to provide the community with quality instrumental ensembles, to provide challenging performance opportunities for adult musicians of all ages.We interact in a cooperative spirit with cultural organizations in the community in planning activities.We stress the importance of music as an integral part of the community culture and actively pursue better integration and heightened awareness of the arts.
