At the Cape Town Partnership we constantly seek answers to questions such as: What drives and grows a dynamic, resilient city? What gives it life? What makes it move? What gives it soul and heart? What we have realised is that, more than the infrastructure, the built environment, the beautiful natural resources or skyline, a city comes to life every day because of its people – as they come together in a commonly shared space to work, to live, to learn and play. The Cape Town Partnership was formed in 1999 as a non-profit (Section 21) organisation to mobilise and align public, private and social resources towards the urban regeneration of Cape Town's Central City. It was initiated by the City of Cape Town, the South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA) and the Cape Town Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry, among others.
