Acadiana Humane Society a no-kill animal rescue in Louisiana that cares for pets in need. They take in cats, dogs, rabbits, ferrets, and other small pets as funds and space will allow; they are strays, abandoned, owner surrenders, and animals saved from kill shelters. They provide vet care, spaying/neutering, love, shelter, and food until they're adopted into wonderful homes. They hold adoption events every Saturday at the Lafayette Petco from Noon until 4PM, and occasionally at the Lafayette Petsmart as well. Acadiana Humane Society has a Pet Food Bank to temporarily provide families suffering from economical stress the pet food needed to allow them to keep their pets while they get back on their feet. They also have a Spay/Neuter Program to assist qualifying low income families and individuals to spay and neuter their pets. The mission of Acadiana Humane Society is to make the world a better place for pets by working with other animal rescue groups to provide food, shelter, and medical care to animals looking for permanent homes. They also try to prevent animal cruelty and end the use of euthanasia by teaching the public about spaying and neutering their pets.
