KMEA College of Architecture has a vision into the future and fully realizes the essentiality and criticality of aligning the design studios to anchor its intent and perspectives in tune with and within the visionAll the subjects in the curriculum are grouped under the four vertical streams of Design, Technology, History & Theory, and Practice & Management This is in order to bring focus on the larger discipline, to detail and deliberate on possibilities of interdisciplinary learning and also to balance these critical aspects in the overall pedagogy of the institutionThe ‘foundation year' focus is on developing basic architectural design skills. The student's tool includes a critical, evaluative, conceptual mind. He/she should develop the ability to interconnect concepts/facts, to use theory and argument, and seek a higher level of explanation in the process of learning design.Intended to invoke the free thinker in each student, 3rd and 4th semester explores Phenomena in architecture. Emphasizing on the intentions and meaning of various architectural expressions the design team encourages students to appreciate the resulting experiences in spaces. In the third academic year the students put to use their acquired basic skillsets and tools along with their abilities to experience spaces into a complex design programme. This year enables them to solve and create complex structures with efficient planning, technology and services. Theme of the third-year studio is technology and practice in which the students learn the various nuances they need for professional practice before they step into internship the year after.Followed by Practical training insights in 4th year the final year deals with Urban Issues in a larger scale where the approach to design is working from macro to micro level. Hence the design output is visionary at the same time practical. Creative thinking is encouraged to bring out futuristic approaches at par with the technological advancements
