JVS Wine and Spirit Imports was started in 1997 in the San Francisco Bay Area when Sam Filmus and his family began importing and distributing wines from Eastern Europe. The business grew in two important directions: the development of JVS as an importer with a national network of distributors for its products, and the growth of JVS as a wholesaler in California. JVS sells products from virtually every major alcohol beverage category within its California wholesale operation. Mr. Filmus and business partner Vladimir Zhoglo have created a large portfolio of products that include brandy, tequila, vodka, scotch and rum along with a variety of cordials. JVS also sells a wide assortment of beer and wine products with a focus on Eastern European products. Today, JVS is the representative of about 1,000 products to California retailers.
