Arts and Crafts

The Hartford Artisans Weaving Center is a supportive and creative community that preserves, promotes and teaches the craft of hand-weaving. We teach classes for all ages, curate exhibits and run a unique artisan program. Our Artisan Program is dedicated to teaching hand-weaving to seniors and people of all ages who are blind or visually impaired. Artisans are valued members of our weaving community. They weave the fabric that is used to create beautiful products that we sell in our shop, online store and at our annual open house and sale. All of our hand-woven products are made in Hartford CT, out of natural sustainable fibers like bamboo, cotton and wool. We believe there is opportunity to create beautiful local products in a way that benefits both the creator of the product and our customers. We are powered by our generous volunteers, your purchases and donations, and grants from community foundations.
