Established in 1969, the Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (formerly known as BHCNC) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. Each year the center serves over 11,600 people with psychiatric outpatient services, counseling, training, job searches, and support. Services provided include case management, psychiatric services, rehabilitative skills training, individual or group counseling, integrated care, supported employment and other services. • Intellectual and Developmental Disability - Provides services to children and adults that have had disorders at birth which have negatively affected the trajectory of their physical, intellectual and emotional development. Services provided: habilitation and support, caregiver respite, day habilitation, supported home living, specialized therapies, living skills training, emergency response services, and other services.
