True to its name, "Raabta" aims at building connections across India to deal with small- ground level issues and create better opportunities for girls who are deprived of their basic human rights. How many of us are aware of the rights of women bestowed upon by our constitution? What about the areas where women are pulled down for saying "Periods" or "Sanitary Napkins" out loud? These are the questions that go unanswered and we, at Raabta, focus on initiating this conversation surrounding these issues.Raabta places cornerstone on empowering girls to voice their beliefs and opinions by providing the requisite platform. With Raabta, we hope to be the light in the journey of an independent woman by imparting education and professional skills and bringing the much needed awareness.We all are here to put an end to the patriarchal society and bring across the traditional meaning of feminism, i.e. Equality. We believe men and women should be treated equally but if we weigh the balance, then women need to have a lot of weight on their side to actually make the balance equal. However, Raabta is beyond the norms associated with girls and as such, we hope that our work breaks the norms which are not only associated with girls but also with boys. Patriarchy not only limits the space of women but also inflicts a certain manner in which both the sexes are supposed to act. Raabta aims to redefine the definition of feminism which is more than just equality, rather, is more about liberating both the sexes from the norms which have been imposed on them by society.We want everybody to ask themselves if they are feminists or not. It's a simple yes or no.
