Svetlana Lee launched Varna Capital on October 1st, 2010. Prior to launch, Svetlana managed the Varna Strategy from July 2008 to March 2010 on the PioneerPath incubation platform, a unit within Citadel Alternative Asset Management LP (CAAM) that provides emerging managers with an infrastructure and access to a managed pool of investment capital. Prior to that, Ms. Lee worked on the investment team at Greenlight Capital where she was since 2005, the Baupost Group starting in 2003 and Perry Capital starting in 1998. Varna Capital employs a long/short value strategy that invests opportunistically across the capital structure, geographies and industries. We exploit event driven situations, structural market dislocations or situational dynamics that obscure fundamental business value.
