The mission of Soli Deo Gloria Contemporary Ballet is refreshing the heart, soul, and mind through the art of dance. We do this through our vision of Reaching Up, Reaching In, and Reaching out. The company seeks to fulfill this vision throughout the state of Michigan through professional dance artists with the desire to serve and minister by using and giving the gifts that God has given them.Reaching Up – Soli members are mentored and trained by Turning Pointe Directors who lead dancers in growing in their spiritual gifts and abilities. Soli members develop their "servant's heart" and grow as a Christ-centered community through daily prayer, devotion and shared service experiences in the school and the community. These factors lead to Soli members growing in their faith walks as their relationship to Christ is strengthened. Reaching In – Soli partners with Turning Pointe School of Dance ministry to impact the lives of students through discipleship. Great spiritual formation can take place in the lives of young men and women when given role models, mentors and leadership in faith and worship development. Soli members are expected to model a vibrant faith walk while modeling a commitment to excellence in Ballet training. Soli members also have opportunities to teach, assist, choreograph or run rehearsals, and lead Bible studies throughout areas of the school. Reaching Out – Soli Deo Gloria dancers and staff reach out to the community by partnering with organizations and non-profits, bringing an experience of the arts and a message of hope, love and encouragement to many. Soli goes to those who may not otherwise experience the message of the Gospel, and have access to the arts. By performing choreographed works with a Christian message, leading dance workshops focused on giving glory to God and sharing personal testimonies, Soli gives the Hope we have in Christ back out to the community.
