Japanese Weekend Maternity owner/designer Barbie White majored in dance at the University of Oregon. After moving to San Francisco in the mid-seventies, she founded Oblong Rhonda, an urban modern dance company. Japanese Weekend was named after a dance performance choreographed by Barbie in the late seventies.
