Before starting Eslick Public Affairs, Tal served in various senior external affairs roles with a large California energy company. Prior to joining the private sector, he held state and federal government roles including Chief of Staff in the United States Congress and California Assembly. Tal graduated from California State University, Fresno with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Masters of Business Administration. He and his wife Rachel live in Sacramento, California with their daughter Mary.
