Dannemora Federal Credit Union (DFCU) is a full-service financial institution organized in 1958 by a group of employees of the Dannemora State Hospital. Those employees decided to collaborate to create a place where they and fellow employees could save and borrow money safely, confidentially, and at fair rate of return. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, DFCU is owned by our members with a volunteer Board of Directors that is elected by our members, meaning there are no stockholders to pay. DFCU currently serves over 20,000 members and has over $220,000,000 in assets. Annually, DFCU reinvests over $50,000 back into our community with annual sponsorships and donations.
