Volunteer and Co-facilitator for our Youth Advocate program at Caminar Latino, Inc. - Atlanta, GA, US
Caminar Latino, Inc. is a community-based, culture-specific intervention program for Latino families affected by domestic violence. We are the first and only comprehensive program for Latino families in Georgia. We have been working in Atlanta since 1990. We offer support and reflection groups for Latina survivors, a state-certified family violence intervention program for batterers, and five age-specific sharing groups for children and yourth from 0-25 years old. Although unusual by mainstream standards, we have found that this comprehensive approach is a culturally appropriate and effective approach for our Latino population. As part of our mission, we also have programs to develop community capacity in different areas such as:- Our "Lideres Comunitarias" (Community Female Leaders) - "La Voz Juvenil de Caminar Latino" (The Young Voice of Caminar Latino)- Training and Technical Assistance for other agencies and professionals at local, regional and national levelsFor more information about our programs check our website at caminarlatino.org.
