An autonomous institution under the Ministry of Human resource Development, Govt. of India established in the year 1966 primarily for the development of the technician education system in the country. Over the years it has developed as a centre of excellence in the area of technical education and is now offering its varied expertise to different technical education systems, industries and other organisations in the country and to several other countries as well. Over the years the institute has developed the capability to offer wide ranging services to both the technical education system as well as industry.
