The Iris Foundation was created to give young professionals in the Nashville community an outlet to serve philanthropically and make a lasting impact in the city they work and live in. Founded in 2016, a group of close friends realized there was a lack of opportunities for young professionals to come together altruistically and, in the process, meet new acquaintances who shared the urge to give back to Music City. The Iris Foundation (inspired by the state flower of Tennessee) is now comprised of 40 distinguished hosts who each have critical roles in organizing the annual black-tie fundraiser known as The Iris Ball, which highlights a deserving charity each year. The inaugural Iris Ball took place in April 2017 and hosted 640 people from across the country for a night of socializing, dancing and fundraising. Over $64,000 was donated to Purple Heart Homes, who aims to provide quality care to members of the US armed forces that have returned home to dire circumstances. The proceeds directly funded three housing renovation projects for military veterans across Tennessee and sparked outreach programs that allowed Purple Heart Homes to continue their good work in our state. The second annual Iris Ball took place on March 24th, 2018 and all proceeds benefited Oasis Center, a Nashville based non-profit that provides a safe haven for at-risk youth and families.
