LOVE: Leave Out Violence is a non-profit organization that helps reduce violence and the effects of violence in the lives of teenagers, through Media Arts and Leadership programs. Our unique skill-building and educational programs educate and empower youth that have been affected by DRUG AND ALCOHOL ABUSE, BULLYING, THOUGHTS OF SUICIDE, VERBAL, PHYSICAL AND SEXUAL ABUSE, SELF-MUTILATION, as well as STREET GANG ACTIVITY, to break the cycle of violence in their lives and in their communities. LOVE was created in Montreal in 1993 by Twinkle Rudberg. Her husband Daniel was murdered by a 14 year old boy who was on drugs and in a gang. The inspiration for LOVE was Mrs. Rudberg`s realization that the youth who killed her husband had also been a victim of violence. Her goal was to empower youth to make better choices in life. Because of the success of its programs in Montreal, LOVE now has offices in Toronto, Halifax and Vancouver.
